A 3-day kigali city tour

 

 Day 1:Kigali International Airport Pick up and transfer to your hotel 

Upon your arrival at Kigali Airport, you will be welcomed by our guide drive that is fluent in English and French. After a tea break at Bourbon Coffee, you will be transferred to your hotel. If you come in the morning, you will visit some milk bars. Cows are important in the Rwandan culture, a symbol of wealth, prosperity and identity; you get to know they are used to pay marriage dowry and bride price. Milk is, as a result, also important culturally. You will get to know all the associated cultural rites with it. Kigali City is rich in this kind of shop “called milk bars”.

 Visit Kigali Genocide Memorial and Parliament building 

After breakfast, you will then meet your drive-guide. After a short briefing, start driving some minutes to the Kigali Genocide Memorial and get to learn about the recent and the bloodiest genocide of humanity. A visit to this memorial is unforgettable as it teaches visitors about the events before, during and after the genocide. And then after this experience, you will have also a chance to enter the parliament building which hosts the “Campaign against Genocide” museum and experience how soldiers led by President Paul Kagame have been able to stop the genocide. Later on, stopover at the restaurant downtown for lunch. After lunch, continue the city tour and Visit the Kimironko local Market and the Gaddafi Mosque; referred to as, because of the road that Kaddafi did build that runs parallel to the mosque and it is the official name, otherwise is the Islamic Cultural Center. This will mark the end of the day’s activities as you will be transferred to your Hotel.

Day 3:Visit Inema Art center, Presidential Palace museum and transfer back to Airport

After your breakfast at the Kigali Holiday Hotel, you will get to visit the Inema Art Center. Unique and contemporary that it is, Rwandan arts can be found all over the city but Inema Arts Center houses of Kigali is one of the best best. After this, you will get to explore the recent changes in Kigali. New buildings, stores, and even roads are common, and no area in the city demonstrates the fact more than the kacyiru roundabout near the Kigali Convention Center, which is the most interesting in Kigali with its variable colors. Later on, get transferred to your hotel for lunch.

After lunch, continue the city tour and visit the presidential palace museum in Kanombe near the international airport. You will get to learn the historical background of the former president of Rwanda, take some pictures and buy some souvenirs for your memories and after which you will be transferred to the Airport for your night flight.
