About the event

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali - Bwindi NP 

When land in Kigali, our guide will be waiting to welcome you. He will give you a brief about where you are and what’s to come ahead the following days. Depending on the time you land, you will continue on a journey to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for Gorilla tracking. If you get to Kigali late, you will have to sleep in Kigali and embark on a journey to Uganda the next day.

DAY 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Begin the day with an early morning breakfast at 6am and start moving to tracking location. Please note that the distance and accommodation is determined by your tracking location. The tracking experience takes about 4-8hours depending on where the gorillas are within the forest. So you will have packed lunch too. After the tracking session, you will be tired. Freshen up and rest at the lodge.

Overnight: Bwindi 

 DAY 3: Transfer from Bwindi  to Kampala

On this day after breakfast, you will get into the car for a long journey to Kampala from Bwindi. The distance between Bwindi and Kampala is approximately 507 kilometers. The driving time can vary depending on traffic conditions, but it usually takes around 8 to 9 hours to reach Kampala from Bwindi.We will have lunch along the way from several options. Depending on the time we get there, one popular stop is the Equator, which is located around halfway between Bwindi and Kampala. Here, you can find restaurants and souvenirs, making it a great place to stretch your legs, take pictures by the equator and have a meal.After that short lunch break, we will proceed our journey till late.

DAY 4: Transfer to Juba 

Start the day with an early morning breakfast and then embark on a long drive to Juba. The driving distance from Kampala to Juba is about 641 Kilometers which is 11-12 hours depending on traffic or the condition of the roads. Another alternative could be flying from Entebbe Airport to Juba which is 516 Kilometers which is 1 hour and 25 minutes.

DAY 5: Journey to Mundari 

After an early breakfast, you set out on a journey to the Mundari tribe capital in Terekeka. The drive takes approximately 1 to 3 hours, enjoying the breath taking and remote south sudanese countryside. Upon reaching Mundari in the evening, you can set up tents, enjoy a delightful dinner and settle in for an overnight stay.

DAY 6: Exploring the Mundari Cattle Camp 

After a satisfying breakfast, venture into the heart of Mundari community and experience their unique cattle rearing traditions. The Mundari people are renowned for their warm hospitality and you will engage in cultural exchanges while capturing remarkable photographs. Indulge in local delicacies if you choose, and as the day transitions to evening, witness the sunset and smoke over the cattle camps.

DAY 7: Transfer to Uganda’s Kidepo Valley National Park 

After breakfast, depart from Mundari tribe: Begin your long journey towards Uganda's Kidepo Valley National Park. Take a scenic drive through the countryside, witnessing the changing landscapes and local villages along the way. Capture breathtaking views of the remote wilderness and lush vegetation that encompass the park. This journey will take you about 9-10 hours depending on the condition of the road.

DAY 8: Morning game drive in Kidepo Valley National Park

Rise early to experience the beautiful sunrise over the vast plains of Kidepo Valley. Set off on a thrilling morning game drive after breakfast, guided by experienced rangers who will help you spot the park's iconic wildlife. Enjoy close encounters with elephants, buffalo herds, lions, and possibly cheetahs.  Visit the Karamojong People. After the game drive, depart from the park and head towards the Karamojong region. This area is home to the Karamojong pastoral community, known for their semi-nomadic lifestyle and proud cultural heritage. Interact with the locals, learn about their traditional customs, and witness their unique rituals and ceremonies.

DAY 9: Motorbike to Lodwar town in Turkana district – Then Fly to Masai Mara 

Here your guide will rent two motorbikes for your journey to Turkana. You will enjoy breathtaking scenic views as you ride through the countryside.On arrival, you will proceed to Lodwar Airport for a flight to Masai Mara where from then, you will be driven to Ordarpoi Camp in Masai Mara. From here, you can freshen and relax for the next day’s adventure.

DAY 10: Game drive in Masai Mara Reserve

After a hearty breakfast, you will hop onto the car for your morning game drive in Masai Mara Reserve. The Masai Mara Reserve is a home to an extraordinary amount of wildlife, including the ‘Big Five’ and other fascinating species such as giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, hyenas and countless bird species. If nature allows, you will be able to spot a wide range of wild animals. Afterward, you will have lunch and unwind and relax at the beautiful Ordarpoi Camp in Masai Mara.

DAY 11: Visit the Elephant Orphanage in Nairobi 

Leave Masai Mara early in the morning, around 6 am, to ensure you have enough time for this activity in Nairobi. Driving distance from Masai Mara to Nairobi is about 238 km (4hours 30 minutes drive) and moving by air will take you about 1 hour to Nairobi. Once you arrive at the Elephant Orphanage, located in Nairobi National Park, you can observe and learn about the orphaned baby elephants and the amazing work done by the trust.

Overnight: Ordarpoi Camp in Masai Mara

DAY 12-14: Relaxation 

You will spend the last three days of your trip relaxing. You can choose to go out or spend your time indoor appreciating the beauty of nature at Ordarpoi Camp in Masai Mara.uring your stay at Ordarpoi Camp, you will have ample opportunities to engage in various activities that will help you download and refresh from your previous adventures. You can take leisurely walks through the camp, enjoy refreshing spa treatments, or simply lounge by the campfire, taking in the mesmerizing views and sounds of the wild.

Overnight: Ordarpoi Camp in Masai Mara
