About the Event

Day 1 : Landing at Kigali international airport

  • Landing at Kigali international airport and transfer at Lebanon Hotel in Kigali (if time allows, we should do a short city tour

Day 2: Kigali Kigali city tour

  • 08.00 am:  Visit the Kigali genocide memorial
  • 12.30 am:  Lunch
  • 02.00 pm:  Visit the Kimironko local market
  • 4.00   pm:  Visit the downtown
  • 5.00   pm:  Go to test the local coffee 
  • 6.00   pm:  Retire in Lebanon Hotel

Day 3: Drive to Nyungwe

  • 6.00 am:      Start driving to Nyungwe Forest National Park(the largest in East Africa)
  • 9.00 am:      Stopover at King Palace in Nyanza and visit the museum, interact with their romantic cows
  • 10.00 am:   Continue driving to Nyungwe
  • 12.00 am Stopover at Kitabi Eco Center for Lunch, there is a very panoramic forest view
  • 2.00 pm:      Drive to Uwinka overlook in the bottom of the dark forest
  • 3.00 pm:      Step on the extended shaking bridge 100m  above the forest. The bridge is more than 200m long  
  • 5.00 Pm:      Drive to DR Congo border and cross immediately
  • 6.00 pm:      Stay at Tchivanga Lodge inside Kahuzi Biega National Park.

 Day 4: Low land Gorillas trekking

  • 7.00 am:   Drive to Tchivanga in Kahuzi Biega
  • 9.00 am:   Lowland gorillas trekking 
  • 1.00 pm:  Drive back to Bukavu
  • 2.00 pm: Lunch at the local restaurant
  • 3.00   am:   Stay at Tchivanga.
  • Dya5: Speed boat to Goma and check-in Virunga.
  • 7.30 Am:   Take a speed boat to Goma 
  • 10.30 Am:   Arrival in Goma and go for a city tour(visit the Tchukudu roundabout, the local market..)
  • 12.00 Am:   Lunch at the local restaurant
  • 1.00 pm:   Transfer to Virunga National Park 
  • 3.00 Pm:   Check-in Kibumba Tented Camp
  • 4.00 Pm:   Nature walk around the Kibumba tented camp
  • 6.00 Pm:   Retire in the camp

Day 6:  Mountain Gorilla trekking

  • 6.00 am:  wake up and get your breakfast
  • 7.00 am:  go for meeting the giant and rare mountain gorillas in their natural habitat (1 up to 2 hours walking to meet them)
  • 12.00 am: Reach back the starting point 
  • 1.00 am: Lunch and chill at the Kibumba tented camp

Day 7: Nyiragongo Hiking Up

  • 08.00 am: Drive to Nyiragongo
  • 10.00 am: Start hiking
  • 04.00 pm: Reach the top and contemplate the largest lava lake in the world
  • 06.00 pm:  Retire in the cabanas near the crater rim

Day 8: Hike down, cross to Uganda through Rwanda.

  • 6.30   am: Start hiking down
  • 10.30 am: Reach the starting point and drive straight to Rwanda border
  • 12.00 am: Lunch at Rwanda side
  • 02.00 pm: Drive to Uganda border
  • 04.00 pm: Cross to Uganda and drive to Lake Bunyonyi
  • 06.00 pm:  Check in the Lake Bunyonyi Overland
  •  Day 9: Lake Bunyonyi, Queen Elisabeth 
  • 08.00 am:   Go for a boat tour in the beautiful lake, visit the zebra island and embark in the pygmies tribe village
  • 10.00   am:   Entertained by the pygmies and drive to Queen Elizabeth National park
  • 1.00     pm:    Lunch at the Park View Hotel
  • 2.00     pm:    Drive to Queen Elisabeth National Park
  • 5.30     pm:    Check-in Bush Lodge Lodge

Day 10: Game drive in Queen Elisabeth

  • Game drive in Queen Elisabeth and Visit the Kazinga channel (the largest number of Hypos live here)
  • 7.00 am:   go for a half-day game drive
  • 12.00 am:  back at the lodge for lunch
  • 2.00 pm: check out Bush lodge and get in the boat for the Kazinga channel(this is the place you can see many animals from water.
  • 4.00 pm: Drive to Kibale Forest National Park
  • 7.00 pm:  Check-in Primates Lodge

Day 11: Chimpanzee Trekking and Flight back

  • Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park (the largest number of chimpanzees in the world lives here) and transfer to Kampala for a night flight
  • 8.00 am:   Walk some one hour in the bottom of Kibale Forest and meet the wisest animal (chimpanzee) in their natural environment
  • 12.00 am: Lunch at primate lodge
  • 2.00 pm:   Transfer to Entebbe for a late evening flight back 

Gross personal Cost: 3500 USD

What to carry: The yellow fever vaccination card, the hiking gear, favorite snacks, warm and raincoat, toys for kids(not mandatory) and whatever you think can be useful when you go inside the King Kong jungle.

Note: We only confirm this tour once you make a 10% of the total amount deposit( though western union, Bank wire transfer, on through our online payment system).

We also advise booking your tour earlier as possible as your dates happen in the high season in which visit permits and hotels are getting overbooked. This is to avoid any disturbance or unexpected change in your program.

Our cancellation policies depend mainly on National park terms and rules. The amount deposed on our account is directly used to secure your permits and hotels on which we don't have any control. However, many of our chosen hotels are flexible to return the money at 90 % when your cancellation is announced in advance.
